What is GMAT?

Graduate Management Admission Test is a computer adaptive test whose score is accepted by most business schools worldwide including all elite ones.

Reputation of GMAT?

Worldwide more than 2000 business schools accepts GMAT because this test demonstrates the skills required to succeed in business schools. In fact, nine out of ten admission in MBA is base on GMAT score.

Why you should take GMAT?

Tip: Interaction in business school programs is essential component of learning process, explore how you can add value in program, to the learning process ,and ultimately to the community by analyzing in retrospect how have you contributed in community in past as they say, “past dictates future”

  • Do you have relevant work experience?

Tip: Be cognizant of the criteria set by admissions committees for admissions in business school, it is better to have work experience.

GMAT Test Sections

There are four sections in GMAT test:

  1. Analytical Writing Assessment
  2. Integrated Reasoning
  3. Quantitative
  4. Verbal

1. Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA)

Analytical writing in GMAT is an academic writing which involve analysis of an argument. It measures how you can meaningfully withdraw information from facts and give your conclusion. You need to justify your findings and have to express your view on the argument.

Topic: There is only one topic in this section named “Analysis of Argument”.

Timing: Duration is 30 minutes only.

2. Integrated Reasoning (IR)

Integrated reason section is non-adaptive in nature, and it test your skills that you need in business school and professional life.

Topic: There are four topics:  Multi-Source Reasoning, Graphics Interpretation, Two-Part Analysis and Table Analysis.

12 questions are asked in total.

Timing: Duration is 30 minutes only.

3. Quantitative

Quantitative section in GMAT tests your problem solving skills using basics of math

Topic: There are two topics: Data Sufficiency and Problem Solving.

37 questions are asked in total.

Timing: Duration is 75 minutes only.

4. Verbal

Verbal section in GMAT tests your written English language skills. It will test how well you can analyze an argument and write critical review of it.

Topic: There are three topics:Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning ,and Sentence Correction.

41 questions are asked.

Timing: Duration is 75 minutes only.

Total time for GMAT test is three and a half hours.

Within this allotted time, you have to complete all the sections of GMAT.

After GMAT, you will be displayed five scores on computer screen. Scores includes those of Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, Verbal, and Total (raw and percentile).

Preparing yourself for the challenge known as GMAT

When you are required to get to the correct answer under time constraint, you will feel pressure, and it is very natural to get nervous or to be cautious as a result. GMAT has never been easy in its history but, if you start preparation early ,make a practical plan ,and execute it religiously than no one under the sun can stop you.

Stay Confident

Confidence is the key to success. While preparing for GMAT, keep in mind the future you will have and your desire to shine, your desire to make your mark, and your desire to make it to the highest echelons. Never think about what happen if you couldn’t make it.

Playing on your strengths

There are two kinds of people, the one who focus on their strengths over weakness and the ones who ignore their strengths and focus only their weaknesses. If you happen to fall into these two, then you better needs to sit and think over your strategy for success. Selective studying and focusing on, only one section of GMAT will not results you any good. Your key strategy should be to concentrate on all areas.

Business Schools of Pakistan

There are numbers of institutions which offer business degree and their first choice of admission test is GMAT. Top business schools such as Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, or Instead require GMAT score of around 99 percentile.
